Darwin’s Garden Guided Tours

  • Darwin House 2 The Mount Shrewsbury, England, SY3 8PU (map)

This fragment of the Darwin family garden was bought by Shropshire Wildlife Trust in 2013 and is the only remaining part of the formerly extensive grounds attached to The Mount, Charles Darwin's birthplace. Located above the River Severn the site includes the thinking path, which provided a daily route for walking and reflection.

Join Dr Cath Price for a tour of the site and surrounding area to learn more about how the garden and Shrewsbury would have influenced young Charles Darwin.

*Please note that the site is extremely steep with uneven steps - therefore it is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Tours cost £7.00 per person which supports the work of Shropshire Wildlife Trust to create a thriving natural world in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

Booking is advised as these events have limited capacity and are very popular.
