Felis to Felix: The Genetics of Domestic Cats

Speaker Dr Jill Johnson, Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences, Aston University.

Do all cats have stripes like their wildcat ancestors? How did the Persian, Siamese, and Sphinx breeds come to be? If you’re as curious as a cat and have an interest in genetics, you are sure to enjoy the Royal Society of Biology (West Midlands) Darwin Festival 2022 lecture: From Felis to Felix: The Genetics of Domestic Cats, delivered by Dr Jill Johnson, Senior Lecturer of Biomedical Sciences at Aston University.

Each year, the West Midland’s branch is pleased to support the Shrewsbury Darwin Festival programme that celebrates the birthday of Charles Darwin. This year, the branch is particularly honoured to present a talk on the actual anniversary of Darwin’s birth on the 12th February, 1809.

This event will be held online.
