SM&AG Spotlight Talk: Darwin’s Companions

Charles Darwin grew up surrounded by young men with similar interests in the natural world from Henry Blunt (the son of his father’s chemist) to William Allport Leighton and Thomas Cambell Eyton who studied alongside him at school and later Cambridge University. These two men went on to found Shrewsbury Museum. Find out about their relationships with Darwin in this short spotlight talk on the Balcony at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.

During the Darwin Festival SM&AG are delivering three special Spotlight Talks in the galleries focused on Darwin and his links to the museum collection. Spotlight Talks at SM&AG will then resume weekly from April.

From Spring to Autumn each year SM&AG run free weekly pop-up Spotlight Talks in the galleries; short 20 minute talks about a different subject each week delivered by a staff member or volunteer. These take place at 12noon and are perfect to enjoy during a lunch break, no booking needed just pop in.
